Wedding coasters for every part of the day
Wedding favour coasters
A coaster at every place setting — names, dates, a venue illustration or a thank-you message. The favour guests actually take home and use.
Monogram & save-the-date coasters
A bespoke monogram or a "save the date" coaster sent with the invitation. A keepsake long before the day itself.
Engagement & hen do coasters
Custom coasters for the engagement party, the hen do or the rehearsal dinner. Same minimum (54), same Cornwall print finish.
Bar & signature drink coasters
Coasters for the bar with your signature cocktail name, the band you booked, or an in-joke from how you met. Quiet detail, big impression.

From your invitation to the favour table
Send your invitation, save-the-date or moodboard and we pull the palette, typography and motifs through into the coasters. Monogram, venue line-drawing, foliage, the colour of the bridesmaid dresses — anything you want carried through onto the favour.
You get a digital proof within 3–5 working days and two free rounds of revisions before we print.

The cork, the print, the finish
Premium 5mm Portuguese cork — natural, heat-resistant, weighty in the hand and kind to wooden surfaces. Full-colour UV print onto the cork surface in inks that hold their colour for years. Edges are softly rounded so each favour feels finished, not cut.
Standard size 95mm round or square. Bespoke shapes available on request.
How many wedding coasters do I need?
The honest answer: one per guest, then round up. Coasters get pocketed as keepsakes, the bar wants a stack, and the photographer always wants a spare for the flatlay. Use the table below as a starting point — most UK couples land between 100 and 150.
| Guest count | Suggested order | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 40–60 | 50 coasters | One per guest plus a small spare stack for the bar. |
| 60–100 | 100 coasters | Most common UK wedding order — one per place setting with spares. |
| 100–140 | 150 coasters | Two designs (his + hers / monogram + venue) split across the room. |
| 140–200 | 200 coasters | Larger weddings, evening guests, or coasters on every reception table. |
When should I order wedding coasters?
The realistic timeline from first enquiry to coasters on your favour table is around six weeks. Earlier is better — it gives the design time to settle, and it means revisions feel like fine-tuning instead of firefighting.
- 8+ weeks outSend your stationery, palette and a moodboard. We sketch the first concept.
- 6 weeks outDigital proof in your hands. Two free rounds of revisions if you want to tweak.

Wedding coaster design ideas, by theme
A short tour of the styles couples ask for most. Mix and match — a rustic illustration can sit on a modern minimal layout, a coastal palette can carry a classic monogram.
Rustic & barn
Botanical wreaths, hand-lettering, kraft and sage palettes. Pairs with seeded eucalyptus and a barn or marquee venue.
Coastal & Cornish
Watercolour cliffs, lighthouses, boats and dune grass. The favour that smells like a Cornwall holiday years later.
Modern minimal
Single-line monograms, sans-serif typography, ink-on-natural-cork. Quiet and confident — works in any venue.
Classic monogram
Interlocking initials, foil-feel gold or copper print, your wedding date as a small mark. The traditional favour, done properly.
Botanical & garden
Pressed-flower style illustrations, your bouquet palette pulled through. Beautiful with an outdoor or garden ceremony.
Pet portrait
A portrait created by designers of the dog (or cat) who could not be there. A quiet favourite — and the favour everyone takes a photo of.
Coasters vs the other wedding favours
Every favour has a job: it sits at the place setting, it gets photographed, and — ideally — it survives the journey home. Here is how cork coasters compare to the favours we hear couples weighing them against.
| Favour | Per-guest cost | Used after the day | Waste |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personalised cork coasters | £2.50–£3.10 | Used weekly for years | Almost zero — kept |
| Sugared almonds in tulle | £0.80–£1.50 | Eaten on the night (or binned) | High — tulle thrown away |
| Candles & tealights | £2.50–£5.00 | Burned once at home | Wax & glass to landfill |
| Fridge magnets | £1.20–£2.00 | On the fridge briefly | Often discarded within a year |
| Mini jam / honey jars | £3.00–£4.50 | Eaten in a week | Glass jars usually recycled |
Costs are typical UK ranges for bulk orders; individual suppliers vary. Cork coaster pricing is our own.
Why cork, not MDF or acrylic
Cork
Natural, warm, weighty in the hand at 5mm. Kind to wooden surfaces — no scratching, no condensation rings. Renewable (cork is harvested without felling the tree) and biodegradable at end of life. Holds full-colour print beautifully.
MDF
Cheaper to source and prints well, but light, hollow-sounding and prone to swelling if a glass sweats. Common in mass-produced favours — guests can tell the difference picking one up.
Acrylic
Glossy and modern, but cold to the touch, scratches under glassware, and a plastic favour is hard to defend in 2026. We do not print on acrylic for weddings.
We use Portuguese cork because Portugal grows roughly half the world's cork and harvests it on a nine-year cycle that keeps the tree alive. It is the most forgiving, long-lived substrate we have ever printed on — which is why every coaster we make is built on it.

Wedding coaster FAQs
- How much do personalised wedding coasters cost?
- Wedding favour coasters from Simply Coasters start at around £2.50 each at favour quantities, plus a one-off artwork fee from £45. A typical wedding order of 80–150 coasters lands between £2.50 and £3.10 each, all-in.
- What is the minimum order for wedding coasters?
- Our minimum is 54 coasters — plenty of slack for an intimate ceremony. Most weddings order 60–200 across one or two designs.
- How far in advance should I order wedding coasters?
- Allow 4–6 weeks from first enquiry to UK delivery — that leaves time for a digital proof, two free rounds of revisions, print and tracked shipping. An express VIP service is available if you are tighter on time.
- Can you match my wedding stationery or venue?
- Yes. Send your save-the-date, invitation or venue style and we will pull colours, fonts and motifs through into the coasters so the favour feels of-a-piece with the day.
- Can we have a monogram, venue illustration or our pet on the coaster?
- All three are popular. We hand-illustrate monograms, venue line-drawings (the church, the barn, the cliff-top, the boat), and pet portraits — the latter is a quiet favourite for couples who cannot bring the dog to the ceremony.
- Do you do engagement party or hen do coasters too?
- Yes — same minimum (25), same lead time. Engagement coasters, hen and stag coasters, and "save the date" coasters all use the same custom design route.
- Are cork coasters a good wedding favour?
- Cork is light to post home in a guest bag, looks beautiful on a place setting, and — unlike sugared almonds — actually gets used. Couples tell us guests still have them on the kitchen table years later.
