Halloween coaster ideas for parties, pubs and events
Halloween is one of the easiest events to theme — and one of the most photographed. A set of custom glow-in-the-dark coasters on every table gives your party or pub night a cohesive look, a talking point, and a takeaway guests actually want. Here's how to plan and design them.
Party favours that guests keep
Most party bags end up in the bin. A neon-green or toxic-orange cork coaster with a custom Halloween slogan is useful, memorable, and ends up on a kitchen table for months. Minimum 162 coasters — enough for 80 guests with spares.
Pub and bar event coasters
Halloween week is one of the busiest trading periods for UK pubs. Branded black coasters with neon text glow under UV lighting, tie the room together, and give customers something to photograph and share.
Stag, hen and milestone birthdays
A Halloween-themed stag or hen do, or a October birthday, gets an instant upgrade with rude neon coasters. The Coaster Creator lets you write whatever you want — inside jokes, embarrassing nicknames, or proper filth.
Why neon ink is perfect for Halloween
Our fluorescent neon spot inks — green, orange, pink and yellow — are designed to glow under UV black light. In a dimly lit party room or a pub with UV strips they look supernatural. In daylight they are vivid enough to feel festive without needing pumpkins or clipart.
Unlike cheap glow-in-the-dark stickers that need charging and fade fast, neon UV fluorescence is instant and consistent. The moment the black light hits, the coaster lights up.
Design tips for spooky season coasters
Black background + neon text
Jet-black cork with Neon Green, Neon Orange or Neon Pink text is the classic Halloween combo. It glows under UV and reads as bold and spooky in normal light.
Use all-caps and bold fonts
Halloween copy works best in thick, uppercase typefaces. Our Coaster Creator has Anton and Bebas Neue — both cut through dim pub lighting.
Keep the message short
Three lines maximum. "WITCHES BE CRAZY", "TRICK OR DRINK", or your own rude variation. Short punchy text is more legible and more shareable.
Add a small footer line
The date, the venue name, or a hashtag in a smaller font ties the set together and makes it feel like a proper event piece.
What to write on them
The best Halloween coasters are either funny, rude, or branded. A few angles that work:
- Party favours: "[Name]'s Halloween Bash 2026" with a neon-green skull or pumpkin motif.
- Pub events: Venue name + "Trick or Drink" in Neon Orange on black.
- Rude sets: "Witches Be Crazy", "Resting Witch Face", or your own — the Coaster Creator has no filter.
- Milestone birthdays: "50 & Still Spooky" — any age, any insult, any colour.
Timing and quantities
Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026 — the busiest possible slot. Order custom coasters by mid-September to guarantee delivery before your event. Lead time is 2–3 weeks from artwork approval.
For a private party, 162 coasters (our minimum) covers 80 guests comfortably. For a pub or bar running a week-long Halloween promotion, 500–1,000 coasters in 4–6 designs keeps the tables fresh and gives spares for the inevitable theft.
